2nd November 2013
The Rotary Club of Nkwazi in conjunction with BioGroup Company donated 8 hospital beds and 750 exercises books to the Flying Angels Hospice and Day Care School respectively both in Ng’ombe Township. President Mac supported by AG Lucy and 10 other Rotarians were at hand to present the donations. Flying Angel Hospice provides free medical care to the underprivileged people in Ng’ombe Township. They also provide palliative care to people who are infected with the HIV/Aids virus.
On the educational front, they run a primary School that provides soya porridge for pupils to be attracted to come to school and to give the necessary energy to enable them concentrate in class.
Additionally, the institution has taken the mantle to provide accommodation, food and upkeep for pupils who are double orphaned and do not have relatives to support them to further their education.
The situation at the Day Care School is similar to Flying Angels in as far as the circumstances of the pupils are concerned. The school caters for more than 1000 pupils. Although the Club visited the School on a Saturday, about 400 pupils were there to receive us.
The Club donated the exercise books and the daughter to Rotarian Madhan, Krti gave the pupils a good treat as 3rd November was her birthday. She shared biscuits and sweets with the other kids amidst singing and fun-fare. As a Rotary Club, we would like to thank Rtn Madhan and his father for instilling the virtues of sharing to the “Flying Angel “Krti. This is the second time she is doing it, last time it was at Mango Grove Community School. |
